Subject: Art project flyer

Hi Gideon,

I have recently received your flyer through my door and I’m interested in applying to take part in your project.

The background to applying is that your flyer arrived on my door mat the week I found out that I have secondary cancer following primary breast cancer diagnosis and initially successful treatment 3 and 1/2 years ago. When I was off work last time I took a photo a day for a year and made a photo book which I found very therapeutic and feel being involved in another art project would give another focus to hospital appts etc.

My idea would be to spend the £100 for materials to decorate my front door, thinking of green as it is only green front door in street , one of my favourite colours and  links with the cancer charity Macmillan so quite sentimental and practical. This is something I have been meaning to do for a while but not got round to it yet. The door looks very tired and needs a lift to be more welcoming. Once done I also plan to hold a Macmillan coffee morning for friends and neighbours.

If this isn't imaginative enough my friend has suggested I decorate my yard wall with things like teacups and bunting for the coffee am. 

Either for me would be impulsive as is applying to the project in the first place as I can be the queen of procrastination but this needs to change esp in view of recent events!
